I like that book. This book is more theoretical. Every chapter has a case study which will help to understand the chapter. There is one deficiency in this book that it will not tell us line by line code details as compared to other books which is needed for a new programmer. This edition also give header file details in the end.

Good potential poor execution

This book had a lot of potential but the choppiness was distracting. It lacked depth. You never really get engaged with the characters. I'm not sure if it was poor editing or poor writing but the story felt rushed as if huge chunks of the story were chopped out of it. I really liked the hero and would have enjoyed more about him. The heroine was not fleshed out and there was no context to why she felt or acted how she did. Mostly I feel like I wasted my time waiting for it to improve but it didn't. And the abrupt action and ending just ticked me off. Hopefully this was a first book attempt and the author will improve as I mentioned I saw the potential it just didn't fulfill.

You know...I REALLY HATE that I have to review this book at a 3. There is such promise in the plot and storyline. But the writer was very stilted and the scenes were very sketchy. I give reviews like this because I am not trying to be a book basher. I just see such promise in this story but it falls flat. IF, and yes IF the author writes another story continuing this group, I will read it. No matter what I ALWAYS FINISH the book.

The question I ask is-Can the author write a sequel and it be better written and edited? Im going to follow and see. I do look forward to future writings.

Easy read.

A good, fast paced read but felt that it should have been longer with more background information about certain characters. Loved the concept of Alien/human relationship and the author can expand on the challenges that these differences and likenes represent and whether they can either enhance or detract from a physical relationship. Hope all of Zynn's crew find a significant other and can't wait to read about it.

out of step w/ other reviewers. I thought it was gross that the Hero had a years-long relationship w/ another woman, loving her deeply but offering nothing. That's because - Surprise! - he was married to the heroine. Secretly. As soon as the Other, Beloved, Woman was removed from the scene (cause she's abducted by a sheikh in another book), Hero turns up at Heroine's doorstep. She melts at his feet, has sex w/ him like there's no tomorrow, then he leaves divorce papers on her table?

Even though the secret marriage was to protect Heroine from said sheikh...Ick. No real love in either of these books, except that between the Hero in this one & the abducted bride in the other. In this book, "discovering" that you've loved each other all along - while falling in love w/ other women, having affairs, whatever - is just totally unbelievable and unenjoyable to me. Could not suspend disbelief on any level to engage w/ these characters.

You’re my gatekeeper, you’re my jailer - most loathsome Hero ever, no heart, no love

He’d sucked out every last shred of joy she should have been feeling about having this child, just as he was sucking her life dry.

It is impossible to care about this story. Paolo is the most contemptible Hero I’ve ever read - this is the lawyer that has a massive pro bono case fighting for other people’s rights and here he is, stripping the dignity and basic rights from Helene with every breath he takes. He forces Helene to leave her job, home and country to move to Milan to live with his family. And then he demands that Helene stop getting on so well with his mother, the adorable Carmela, so Carmela won’t be so hurt when he sends Helene away after having the baby. What a complete jerk.

‘You’re my gatekeeper, you’re my jailer. You’ve locked me up here until I deliver your child. But as for being a husband? I don’t think so. I don’t think you know the meaning of the word’ Helene may have had super-charged moments to off-set Paolo but she continues to drop at a moment’s notice to have sex. At no time she is ever a woman of depth that a reader can feel drawn to.

WARNING – SPOILER ALERT. I don’t write plots that have not been revealed by other reviews so I apologise for this one. These words are the only redeeming factor in the whole book.

Paolo and Helene wondered if there is something they may done to trigger off the miscarriage and she offers these thoughts – ‘Maybe our baby knew that things weren’t right between us. Neither of us was happy about being forced together the way we were. We wanted this child certainly – but maybe, the baby just didn’t want us’. There is no heart, no love in the story. The end still has Paolo at his demeaning best and only a minimum few pages have barest HEA. Icky as.

When I read the first book in Trish Morey's series, Stolen by the Sheikh, well I was hooked. However, I knew that the "other side of the story" would be revealed in The Mancini Marriage Bargain.

In the first book one learns that loss of both life and marriage happened due to a business deal between father's that "went sour". Sheikh Khaled wanted revenge for the death of his parents and for being stood up at the altar in Stolen by the Sheikh.

In this book, Mancini Marriage, one learns the "other side" of the story. Paolo marries Helene 12 years earlier to save her from an arranged marriage. They live apart all of these years and when Paolo is the object of revenge and looses his current companion to the Sheikh who wants revenge; in the end he contacts his "wife on paper" for a divorce. From that very moment, the story begins and takes the reader on a high speed roller coaster.

Lack of communication and misunderstandings and an extreme sensual pull between the main characters Helene and Paolo plus the knowledge of a pregnancy, complicate everything.

This is a wonderful story, one not to be missed and I would suggest tissues for your tears.

Even if we have a fair knowledge of PHP, when we start something new like learning a framework we are all beginners. The mistake a lot of writers make when writing about a topic is that they leave out small but critical elements,either because they assume we already about these "elements" or just forget to mention them.

Right from the gecko the book is not easy to read. I've read several programming language books in the past. Thought i would pickup PHP and codeIgniter... this books is bad. Wasted 30 minutes, but at least 30 minutes and not several hours forcing myself to understand what the author is trying to say.
